Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov has signed a declaration on cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, which stipulates the exchange of information on current and planned humanitarian and rescue operations.
The minister stated that Russia’s Emergencies Ministry was ready to utilize its educational, training and rescue centers to host joint courses and drills aimed at upgrading the capabilities of the both organizations’ staff.
Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies Elhadj As Sy, in turn, noted that the Federation was willing to further cooperate with Russia. "We would like to boost our cooperation in the future. I know that emergency response is one of Russia’s priorities," Elhadj As Sy stressed.
Apart from the exchange of information on humanitarian operations, the declaration also envisages the execution of joint missions, the implementation of joint projects in order to enhance the emergency response capacities as well as holding joint courses, lectures and drills.
