Everyone is invited to voice several names of the repressed.

A memorial action is organized in central Moscow, where participants read out names, professions and shooting dates of people, subjected to repression during the Soviet times.

The memorial action features the Russian Human Rights Ombudswoman, Tatiana Moskalkova, head of the Human Rights Council Mikhail Fedotov, and former Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin.

The first names were voiced by the ombudswoman.

"It is very painful," said Moskalkova. "But we should have courage to offer state repentance for the evil, the state authorities brought in the time of repression."

The memorial action is organized for the tenth time. According to the Memorial NGO, in 1937-1938 in Moscow only more than 30,000 were shot dead. The action will continue to late afternoon of Oct. 29, and everyone is invited to voice several names from the lists the organizers prepared.
