This would benefit both the Russian and American people, president says
Russia is ready to do everything to return the relations with the United States to the growth trajectory, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Nov. 9.
Putin made this statement at a ceremony of accepting credentials from ambassadors.
"Russia is ready and wants to restore full-format relations with the United States," the Russian leader said.
"Let me repeat. We proceed from the fact that this will be an uneasy way but we’re ready both to cover our part of the distance and do everything to return the Russian-US relations to the steady development trajectory," he added.
Putin said this would benefit both the Russian and American peoples and positively influence the general environment in world affairs, "considering the special responsibility of Russia and the United States for maintaining global stability and security."
