Merkel says interested in establishment of good relations with Russia

Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said she would be working on establishment of good relations with Russia.

For the recent 25 years we could not establish stable relations with Russia, but Russia is our neighbor, it is the EU's outside border, she told the Munich Security Conference on Feb.18. The chancellor added she would be working hard to have good relations with Russia, despite different opinions on certain issues.

"The West and Russia share common interests in fighting terrorism", she added. "We may be cooperating in this".
