Russia receives preliminary documents on criteria for participation
Work on finalizing the criteria for admitting Russian athletes to international competitions will continue until the end of November, Secretary-General of the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF) Mikhail Butov told TASS on Nov. 7.
The ARAF received on Nov. 7 working documents from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), which list the criteria for admitting Russian athletes to international events.
"Now all this will be in the joint work with the relevant IAAF group. There are a lot of procedural issues there," Butov said.
"If there are changes, they must be approved by the IAAF Council, which will hold its session from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1. Before that, we’ll continue work in cooperation with the IAAF working group," the Russian athletics official said.

The ARAF continues work for the fulfillment of the criteria received earlier and deemed by the IAAF as unfulfilled, Butov said.
"We’re now working on what was defined in June as an admission criterion and deemed by the IAAF as unfulfilled by us. There were several questions there. The process continues and we have informed the IAAF working group of what we have already done. Now we’re waiting for the status update," he said.
The IAAF voted by an overwhelming majority of votes a year ago to suspend the ARAF’s membership in the organization. Later, the IAAF set up an inspection group that is assessing the ARAF’s reformation. The Russian national athletics team was barred from the Rio Olympics, except long jumper Darya Klishina.
