Moscow, Beijing agree to build new nuclear power plants in China

Russia plans to build new nuclear power plants in China, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation said in a statement following the meeting of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang on Nov. 7.

“Several power units will be built on new sites in China,” Rosatom said in the press note. “The two countries will develop cooperation on floating nuclear power stations and the promising area of fast-neutron reactors, which comprise of fourth-generation technology.”
